Q // What inspired you to start making content? 

A // I started making videos back when I was 7 years old. I used to use my dad’s video camcorder to “blog”. I think I’ve always just been fascinated by the artform and enjoyed the process. 

Q // Sounds like being a Snap Star was almost your destiny. When did you first start using the platform and why?

A // I joined in 2012 back when all you could really do was send disappearing images to your friends. It was an easy way to communicate with each other and fun to explore the filters and lenses even back then.

Q // Do you have any favorite features that you use today?

A // I really love the custom filters people make - like, Bryant For You and Indie. I also like the Timeline feature because it allows you to tell a linear story under one Snap. The music feature is great, too. Some songs get seriously stuck in my head, but that’s kind of the fun of it. 

Q // Today, you make most of your content with your dad. Can you tell me a bit about how that got started? 

A // When Covid first hit and quarantine started, I moved in with my parents and we all got really bored. So, one day I asked my dad if he would want to make a video with me and it kind of evolved from there. We really enjoyed the process and it became a fun way for us to bond. 

Q // What’s the creative and collaboration process between you two?

A // I’m usually the one that comes up with the ideas, but he definitely adds his own flare and improvises when we film. He’s typically the quiet one in the family so it’s awesome to see how he comes alive in front of the camera. He cracks me up!

Q // All of your videos are so fun to watch, where do you get your inspiration?

A // I take a lot of inspiration from the world around me - things I see in pop culture and even from other creators. There’s so many talented people out there, it’s great to see what other people are doing on the app and kind of evolve ideas from there. 

Q // What would you say are the biggest benefits and challenges of being a creator?

A // I love the flexible schedule. No matter where I am I make content and submit to Snap Challenges. I guess I’d say the biggest challenge is being consistent. Sounds easy to say but is actually kind of hard. 

Q // If someone was interested in becoming a content creator, what advice would you give them?

A // Go for it! Seriously, just start and see how it feels. A lot of people are intimidated by the process or what people might think, but you just have to go for it!

Q // How do you see your content evolving in the future?

A // I’d love to start to use my platform to give other people a voice. I admire a lot of creators who are able to incorporate causes into their content. And my ultimate dream outside of social content creation is to be a voice over actress for an animated movie. Fingers crossed!
