Snapchat is Helping Black Creators Jumpstart Their Careers
What - We’re beyond proud to announce the launch of 523 for Black Creators! This exciting program will provide 25 aspiring Black creators with monthly stipends of $10k/month so that they can pursue their creative endeavors. Along with our partners Google Pixel, Westbrook Media, and UNCMMN, we’ll provide 1:1 mentoring and education, and connect these creators with opportunities to launch sustainable, full-fledged careers in the hopes that they can thrive on our platform and beyond.
When -
June 23: Applications open
August 12: Applications close
September: 523 BCA Class is announced
November 2022: Program starts and runs for 1 year - see application for terms of involvement
Who - To be considered for the program, creators must meet the following criteria:
Age 18+
Self-identify as Black
Emerging creator
Someone at the beginning of their content journey who is creating, iterating, and improving over time with no outside guidance or team.
Seeking to become a professional creator
History of abiding by community guidelines (on Snapchat)
Creates positive content that aligns with Snap values (empathy, kindness, creativity)
